The agreement

These terms are the agreement between you and GTAPoliceMods (“GPM”, “we”, “us”) for using gtapolicemods.com, its Discord servers and anything else we run under that name. By using them you agree to these terms, to the guidelines, which say what may be posted and how people are expected to behave, and to the privacy policy, which says what we keep about you.

If you don't agree with them, don't use the site.

Your account

Browsing needs no account. Downloading, uploading, commenting and everything else that leaves a mark does, and an account is made by signing in with Discord.

  • You must be at least 13 years old. An account found to belong to someone younger is deleted, with what it posted.
  • One person, one account. An account made to get around a suspension or a ban is removed, and the ban is extended to it.
  • You answer for what your account does. Keep your Discord account secure, turn on its two-factor sign-in, and tell us at support@gtapolicemods.com if you think someone else has been in your account.
  • You can delete your account at any time from your settings. The privacy policy says what goes with it and what can't.

What you upload

You keep every right you have in what you upload: mods, screenshots, descriptions, comments and the rest. We claim no ownership of it.

So that the site can work, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store it, copy it, resize and convert it, show it and distribute it to the site's visitors and members, for the purpose of running and promoting GTAPoliceMods and nothing else. The licence ends when you remove the work or delete your account, apart from copies held in backups until they expire and what the moderation record has to keep.

By uploading something you promise that:

  • it's your own work, or you have the permission of everyone whose work is in it and have credited them as the guidelines ask;
  • it contains no leaked or paid assets, whoever they belong to;
  • it contains no malware, and nothing that does to a computer what its description doesn't say;
  • it follows the guidelines.

Uploads are checked before they go live, and can be held, hidden or removed when they break these terms or the guidelines. Checking a file isn't a promise about it: what you upload stays your responsibility.

Mods stay free

Every mod hosted on GTAPoliceMods is free to download for anyone with an account, and always will be. A mod can't be put behind a payment, a subscription or any other purchase, by its author or by us.

If we ever offer a paid supporter plan to help fund the site, its perks will be about the site itself. It will never include, unlock or speed up access to a mod.

What you download

Mods are made and shared by members of the community, not by us. We review uploads and remove what we find to be harmful, but we can't promise that any file is safe, works, or suits your game. Back up your game before installing anything, and install mods at your own risk.

Mods change a game you bought from someone else. Using them where the game's publisher doesn't allow it, in GTA Online for one, can get your game account suspended or banned by the publisher. That is between you and them.

Unless its author says otherwise on the mod's page, a mod is yours to install and play with. It isn't yours to reupload, here or anywhere else, to sell, or to pass off as your own.

Rules and moderation

The guidelines are part of these terms. When something breaks them we can remove it, warn the account behind it, restrict what that account can do, suspend it, or ban it, depending on what happened and what came before.

You're told what was decided and why. A warning, a rejected upload, a removed mod and a ban can each be appealed once, and someone other than whoever made the decision answers the appeal. Signed in, that's the appeal form; from an account you can't sign in to, it's appeals@gtapolicemods.com.

Don't try to break the site either: no scraping it in bulk, no probing it for holes without telling us, no getting around a limit, a block or a ban, and no automated accounts. If you find a security problem, write to security@gtapolicemods.com before telling anyone else.

Other services

You sign in through Discord, and you can connect a GitHub, Steam or Twitch account to show on your profile. Your use of each is governed by that service's own terms and privacy policy as well as ours, and we aren't responsible for what they do.

Mod pages and profiles link to other sites. We don't run them and can't vouch for them.

Not affiliated

GTAPoliceMods is run by fans. It isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive or Cfx.re. Grand Theft Auto, GTA and the names of the games are trademarks of their owners, used here only to say what the mods are for.

No guarantees

The site and everything on it are provided as they are and as they're available. We work to keep the site up and what's on it safe, but we make no promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or free of harmful files.

As far as the law allows, GTAPoliceMods and the people who run it aren't liable for any loss or damage that comes from using the site or anything downloaded from it, including damage to a computer, a game install, a save or a game account. Nothing here takes away a right the law says can't be taken away.

Ending it

You can stop using the site and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the guidelines, and we can change, pause or shut down any part of the site. The parts of these terms that are about what already happened (the promises you made about your uploads, and the limits on our liability) carry on afterwards.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with them. A change that affects what you've agreed to is announced on the site before it takes effect, and carrying on using the site after that means you accept it.

Contact

Questions about these terms go to support@gtapolicemods.com. Every other address, and what belongs at each, is on the contact page.
